Why Buy It When you Can Make It

I love making food from scratch, especially things that you see at the grocery store selling for a pretty penny when you know it would cost much less to just make it at home.Pita bread and hummus is a guilty pleasure for me. I have one bite and just kinda drift off into a coma until I wake up realizing there’s none left and the once store bought pita bag only contains air. It’s a sad thing.

This is when I thought, “Why not make my own, so I can save money AND have a longer coma session?!”
– Thanks, I thought it was a good idea myself 😉

Living Out Easter and Chocolate

Good morning and Happy Easter! 🙂 This weekend has been beautiful! Finally, an Easter Sunday where it’s not supposed to rain! And just because I said that, watch it rain….

Every Easter my mom and I set a day aside and become our own little chocolatiers. It’s an all day project and we have so much fun with it. We make our own little turtles, truffles, almond joys, REESE’S ❤ Ah, it’s all so perfect when I get to celebrate the rising King and be around dark chocolate at. the. same. time.

Banana Bread Scones with Brown Sugar Glaze

I love bananas. My day feels incomplete if I can’t get my paws on one for at least a little snack.

It hurts me when I see bananas get thrown out. What did they ever do to you? It was clearly your fault for letting them sit around too long and brown into a gooey mush.

Alright, maybe a little overboard but really, the least you could do is turn those babies into some kind of baked good?! The more ripe a banana is, the more moist and delicious your banana recipe will turn out.

Let’s all vow that on this day forward, we will no longer waste anymore naners. They are an amazing little fruit and want to feel loved. The garbage holds no love.

When I baked this recipe and was greeted by its warm, nutty aroma, I knew I had to share it with my fellow banana lovers. This is what solidified my decision on creating a blog for myself 🙂

Beautiful Weather, Avocados, and a Local Favorite

This past weekend certainly delivered for the highly anticipated warm and sunny weather.
I love when expectations are met :-)I enjoyed all that was being offered from the sun by hiking, laying out, working outside, going on my runs, grilling, and watching my boyfriend work on his bike: true relaxation for me.I also procrastinated quite a bit and now I’m paying for it today. Chemistry is clearly not meant for the back burner. When will I ever learn?

For lunch, one of my favorite things to make is Smashed Avocado and Fried Egg on Toast. The flavor is unreal, and you can’t go wrong with how healthy and filling it is.
